The
Morcom Motorsport team have made no secrets about their
intentions heading into this year’s Bathurst 12 Hour
at Mount Panorama in Central Western NSW on the weekend
of February 20 - 22 and that is to challenge for the
winning honours and nothing else.
This year’s Bathurst
12 Hour line-up for the Morcom Motorsport team is lead
driver and team owner Barry Morcom and he is to be joined
by the experienced pair of Luke Searle and Paul Stubber
in what promises to be a strong combination.
After finishing the
past two Bathurst 12 Hours just off the podium in fourth
place; the Morcom Motorsport team are keen to work their
way into winning contention around the infamous Mount
Panorama circuit.
“For the past two years
we have been right up there and just had some bad luck
and it has resulted in us dropping out of winning contention,”
explained Morcom. “The Bathurst 12 Hour is a fabulous
event at a fabulous circuit and one only has to look
at the record list of entries and the calibre of drivers
entered to realise what a special event this plays in
the Australian Motorsport scene.”

Joining Morcom aboard
his BMW 335i is Luke Searle, an ex Super Tourer racer
and leading Production Car contender, and Paul Stubber,
well regarded within the Historic Racing car community
and he also boast a wide variety of Motorsport experience,
and this forms a strong combination for the Morcom Motorsport
team.
“I am very much looking
forward to driving with both Luke [Searle] and Paul
[Stubber] and I am confident we can do the job and bring
home a good result at the completion of the Bathurst
12 Hour,” Morcom enthused. “Both Luke and Paul have
plenty of experience and they both know what it takes
to be successful in Endurance Races and there is no
reason whatsoever why we cannot taste victory or at
least feature on the podium.”
The Bathurst 12 Hour
is to begin at 6am on Sunday morning and finish at 6pm
on Sunday afternoon and it is certainly going to create
plenty of challenges even for the most experienced of
drivers.
