Morcom Takes Class Honours in Latest Australian Manufacturers Championship Round     3-9-08

Oran Park Raceway is considered one of Barry Morcom’s favourite circuits, and over the weekend it was of great satisfaction that he was able to take out the Class B victory during the second round of the Australian Manufacturers Championship at the circuit.

The Oran Park Raceway circuit, which is based on the outskirts of Narellan in NSW, was where Morcom qualified second in class (sixth outright) and then finished in that same position in the opening race and this all took place on Saturday, and then the following day, Sunday, he improved on the previous day’s results by winning both race two and three in class B aboard his # 11 Rondo Building Services supported, Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway prepared BMW 335i Turbo.

Morcom’s outright results saw him finish the opening race sixth and then fifth in both race two (held in wet weather conditions) and three. All three races in the Australian Manufacturers Championship are held under a reverse grid handicapped format where the fastest cars start from the back of the grid.

“We had a very good and reliable weekend and that is testament to all the hard work my team puts in and the performance of my BMW 335i Turbo, and we managed to come away with the class win too,” said a satisfied Morcom.

“Oran Park is a very technical circuit, so you need to be on your game, each and every lap, and that is what makes it such a great circuit and you know you have to work hard in order to achieve good results there.”

Morcom Motorsport is proudly supported in 2008 by the following organisations: Rondo Building Services, C.I.S. Group, P & I Smash Repairs, Haltech, Premier One, NSW Stretch Ceilings, and Hi-Tech Computers.
